Community Event Recap: IDEA Viet Nam and the Movement of LGBT+ Inclusive Education in Vietnam

With our core values of Inclusivity, Diversity, Equality, and Accessibility, ππππ ππ’ππ πππ¦ aims to promote inclusive education and gender/diversity equality in Vietnamese schools. Through this, we hope to foster a more inclusive learning environment and maximize the potential of every individual.
ππππ ππ’ππ πππ¦ is expected to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as Quality Education and Gender Equality. We firmly believe that inclusive and gender-equitable education is the key to building a sustainable society.
On September 22nd, during HCMC VietPride Week 2024, IDEA Viet Nam hosted a heartwarming community gathering titled “Whose IDEA is this?”. The event brought together young people who shared a common interest in inclusive education.
At this event by IDEA Vietnam, participants had the opportunity to meet, sit down together, and share in a warm and safe space. Through various interactive games, attendees were able to express their thoughts on diversity within the community.
IDEA Vietnam also shared their values and future plans to promote inclusive education and gender equality/gender diversity in Vietnamese schools, starting with the creation of the βQuick Guide to Pronouns.β During the event, participants also contributed their feedback to help refine this guide. This conversation allowed participants to share their unique perspectives and contribute to creating a more inclusive society.
